Description

Before the renovation the building was a disused agricultural warehouse, dating back to the late nineteenth century. It has an "inverted T" plant with a large environment consisting of three vaulted bays with East-West orientation and two lateral environments arranged transversally along the North-South axis.

The large main room has been over the years a stable for horses, oxen and finally agricultural storage. The side rooms served as temporary shelter for workers and are equipped with chimney. There was also an adjoining room, intended for mangers for cows and oxen and horses.

Externally the building looks like an austere but well-proportioned building. The main front has a large door and two side doors, corresponding to the rooms with fireplace.

In the renovation it was decided to enhance the nature of the place while maintaining the architectural aspects that characterize the building.

The interior walls have been cleaned and consolidated. On the outside the ancient wall patinas have been consolidated maintaining their original appearance. The choice of doors and windows was guided by the desire to combine the shapes and colors of tradition.

In the area of the mangers there was a single-pitched wooden roof and tiles severely compromised later. In the project, the old roof was replaced with a self-supporting four-pitched steel pyramid-shaped structure, which emerges slightly from the perimeter walls and is visible only from a distance. This coverage highlights the body added at a later time, now block in the service of the structure as an element of disengagement and bathrooms for the public and staff.
